Hi everyone!

I am very keen to host a study group on The Power of Now
I am willing to host it in any way those who have interest agree on, and I have the following plan for you all to consider:

1. Read one chapter a month, and gather at the end of each month in the Chat-room to discuss any questions we have, insights we gained (or remembered) and so on. You could also discuss how the teachings realte to the Jedi Path.

2. I wish to begin the Study Group on the beginning of March, and so it will end in December.

OR

1. We read two chapters a month, and come together at the end of each month to discuss the teachings to gain an awareness of the lessons being taught. This would happen between March and July.

2. Then, after we have gone through the book once in this way, we come back to the book in the same way with a special regard for how it relates to the Jedi Path. This would happen between August and December.

I don't mind which one you would prefer, or if you would prefer another way!

Please post in this forum if you are interested, and Jax will cerate the Study Group for us!

I think this would be a good review and is at a pace that is easy to manage. Though, I hate going back through books multiple times. personally, I'd rather go through and discuss the Jedi applications the first time around as well. It's hard enough to get people to go through a whole book once, much less twice.

Sorry for having to ask this, but when You are speaking of "The Power of Now", I guess, You are speaking about the book from Eckhard Tolly, aren't You!?

I can see what you mean Jax, although this will be the third time going through this book for me. Though, I am willing to do it for you all.

I do re-read things, but I don't think to do it until enough time has passed that I can come to it from a much different perspective. It takes time to digest concepts, so I never immediately re-read. Unless I have to. But then there's usually someone facilitating so I know what to look for, such as in a literature class.

That is true. I remember the first time I read the first pages of The Power of Now I found it difficult to understand what was being said, but I knew there was something there. I ended up coming back to it a few months later (I think) and straight away I understood what was being said

I'm a little hesitant to take on another commitment, but I think this is a pace I could manage without borking my coursework completely. I have been intending to read (well, partially re-read) this book since shortly after I enrolled at the Institute. So I guess, if it happens, count me in.

Exactly Atticus. I can't take on a weekly commitment. But monthly? I can do that. I used to have the book on audiobook. If I can find it I'll post it somewhere for those who find that more beneficial.

Great! So we currently have 3, possibly 4 people in on it I have two teachers from my local school that are beginning to read it and may jump in aswell, along with a friend of mine who is considering it I'll let you all know.
